John Brosnan has extensive cyber security and networking experience in various technical and management roles across organisations of all sizes in Ireland, the UK and USA.

John joined Digital Equipment Corporation as a Software Engineer and spent 10 very enjoyable years working with experienced teams in Galway, Reading and New Hampshire on a series of high-speed networking and security projects. Following software development and management roles with two other US based startups and with the support of Enterprise Ireland and NUI Galway, John co-founded and became CEO of Netfort Technologies in 2002.

As CEO of a startup, John was heavily involved in all aspects of the business including both development and sales of the NetFort LANGuardian network security product. NetFort eventually built up an impressive portfolio of customers all over the world including Tyco, US Navy, Washington Gas, Honda, Paddy Power and the US Department of Treasury.  In April 2019 Netfort was acquired by the Nasdaq-listed cloud security company Rapid7. John moved to Rapid7 as Senior Director of products operating out of their new Galway R&D centre.

A University of Limerick Engineering graduate, John has co-authored two published network traffic and security papers and holds a US patent for Deep Packet Inspection.
