Policy Advisory Committee

The Policy Advisory Committee (PAC) held its 45th meeting on Thursday, 16 October 2025. Meeting minutes and the supporting slide presentations for all PAC meetings are available on the policy development page on our website. The next PAC meeting is Thursday, 27 November 2025.

NIS2

Ireland, along with many other Member States, missed the deadline to transpose NIS2 into national law by 17 October 2024.  To date, there is no word on when we can expect transposition. We are continuing to collaborate with partners, especially government officials and other European ccTLDs, to ensure that it is transposed in a way that minimises regulatory burden on Registrars. We are currently waiting for more information on how NIS2 will be transposed in Ireland. If you have any queries regarding NIS2 requirements, please do not hesitate to contact dmcdermott@weare.ie.

ICANN 84

The Annual General Meeting for ICANN 84 was held in Dublin from 25-30 October 2025. This marked the 10th anniversary of the last time ICANN came to Dublin. The event was hosted by INEX and had a positive reception from attendees.
